The names on the Kaiparoro bridge (3)

The fourth name on the memorial plaque is that of C. C. Harvey, but I think the initials should be C.G. Details to go on war memorials could be difficult to finalise and mistakes were sometimes made (more on that when I talk about the Brooweena bridge).

Charles Gibson Harvey was born on 19 May 1891, the second of nine children. He worked on his father’s farm at Kaiparoro and enlisted on 1 May 1916 with the Wellington Infantry Regiment, 2nd Battalion, 9th (Hawke's Bay) Company. Charkes Harvey was killed in action on 20 April 1917, aged 25. He is buried in La Plus Douve Farm Cemetery Belgium.

The last name on the plaque on the 1914-1918 side is that of S. Morgan, 

Stephen Morgan was born in Kaiparoro on 3 May 1892. He was a gardener and enlisted on 12 October 1915 with the New Zealand Rifle Brigade, 3rd Battalion. He was wounded 17 September 1916 in the battle of the Somme and sent to hospital in England. Stephen Morgan returned to France in August 1917 and was killed in action 12 October 1917, aged 25. He is buried in an unmarked grave in the Flanders area and his name is on the Tyne Cot Memorial. Some of his family must have lived in Hastings as that's where the In Memoriam notice appears and it's also mentioned in his photograph.
